Peter Hannon is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon based in the Melbourne Bayside area with specific expertise in hip and knee arthroplasty, arthroscopic surgery of the knee and general orthopaedics.

He graduated from Monash University in 1982 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons after completing his specialist training in 1991.

In addition Peter Hannon undertook postgraduate fellowships at the Royal National Orthopaedic and Royal London Hospitals in the UK, the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Portland Oregon, USA and Zentralkinikum, Augsburg, Germany.

Peter Hannon has worked in private practice in the Bayside Area since 1993 and performs over 250 hip and knee replacements each year at Linacre Private and Cabrini Private Hospitals.

Peter Hannon is the Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at Sandringham Hospital, Alfred Health. He has been the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at Linacre Private Hospital since 2007.

Peter was appointed as a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon to Dandenong Hospital from 1993-1998, Monash Medical Centre from 1993-2008 and Sandringham Hospital from 1993 until currently.

 

Peter’s special interests are:

  • Hip replacement – primary and revision
  • Knee replacement – primary, unicompartmental and revision
  • Computer assisted and MRI patient matched knee replacement surgery – total & unicompartmental
  • Arthroscopic surgery of the knee
